Adam Cvijanovic

Cambridge, Massachusetts

Adam Cvijanovic is a celebrated painter whose large-scale works confront the enduring hubris of American culture. Inspired by Renaissance frescoes and painted with oil on canvas or often on Tyvek sheeting, Cvijanovic’s monumental murals have been exhibited in the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, California; MoMA PS1, New York, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai; the SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, Georgia; and elsewhere. His paintings have also been featured in USA Today, an exhibition curated from the collection of Charles Saatchi and the Royal Academy of Arts, London, which traveled to the State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg. In 2009, Cvijanovic was a distinguished visiting professor in the SCAD painting program. A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Cvijanovic lives in New York, and is represented by Postmasters Gallery.
