Hugo Dalton

London, England

Hugo Dalton begins every work by drawing directly from life with pencil and paper. With each artwork, he captures the energy of a given situation and allows its location to take on new life. Art critic Edward Lucie-Smith describes Dalton's work as “a rebellion towards elegance.” The artist’s work has been exhibited at Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England; The Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France; Courtauld Institute of Art, London, and the Today Art Museum, Beijing, China. He has undertaken large-scale commissions for Tiffany & Co., Swire Properties, Barneys New York, Park Hyatt hotels and Derwent London, and his collectors include Kay Saatchi, Anthony de Rothschild, Sam Parker Bowles and David Roberts. A London native, Dalton earned a first-class degree in fine art and art history from the city’s Goldsmiths College, University of London.
